Research Opportunities

Dr. Bolt is currently recruiting high-achieving and highly-motivated students, and is especially interested in potential graduate students with external funding.

Prospective undergraduate students

At undergraduate level, students can volunteer in the Forests + Animal Behavioural Ecology (FABE) lab, apply to complete an NSERC summer student project, or attend Dr. Bolt's biological field school. Interested students should contact Dr. Bolt directly for more information about current biological field courses offered.

Prospective master's students

At master's level, prospective students are encouraged to apply for the professional MFC program, which allows students the opportunity to complete a summer research project under Dr. Bolt's direction while also earning the employable R.P.F. (Canadian Registered Professional Forester) credential.

Prospective Ph.D. students

At doctoral level, prospective students are encouraged to contact Dr. Bolt directly with a description of their proposed research, their training and experience, their grades, and a sample of their best academic work. Those with external funding are especially encouraged to apply.
